Jo Singer is a former breeder of pedigreed cats, including Siamese, Russian Blues, Burmese and Oriental Shorthairs.
She regularly contributes feline related articles to Catnip the official newsletter of the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, “Cat Talk”, – the official magazine of the Cat Fanciers Association, Pictures of Cats.org, a feline-related website housed in England, Animal Wellness Magazine, also writes articles about cat care and behavior and blogs about a variety of companion animals for FloridaWild Veterinary Hospital’s website. Her expertise lies in feline health, nutrition, behavioral issues and alternative veterinary medicine.
She is a member of the Association for Pet Loss and Bereavement; completing their course in Pet Loss Bereavement Counseling. She is a professional member of the Cat Writer’s Association and was mentioned in Stuff.co.nz. For many years, Jo was the Forum Leader for the feline group on America on Line’s Pet community. She presently is a moderator for the Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease group on Facebook, where she helps members with cats that have this condition.
Jo is a retired Certified Social Worker and Psychotherapist. A former horse owner, her Master’s thesis was written about therapeutic horseback riding for the disabled. She shares her Florida home in the United States with Marty, her cat-loving husband, and two amazing kitties, Master Aki, a blue ticked tabby Oriental Shorthair, and a black and white Domestic Shorthair, Mr. Edgar Allen Poe. She has been owned by and has cared for cats for over 40 years
